Constructions Impact on Air Quality.

These days we see big yellow construction vehicles everywhere we go. Right now as I look out my window I see two large yellow excavators. Many people ignore them and continue throughout their day but as I have spent now 3 months living next to them I have some issues. The construction sector contributes to 23% of air pollution, 50% of climate change, and 40% of drinking water pollution. Although expansion is necessary for our society to survive the work that goes into expanding is quite detrimental to our environment. The activities that contribute to air pollution include, operation of Diesel engines, demolition, the burning of and working with toxic materials, and emissions of many harmful gasses. To help with this issue we can talk to our representatives about construction near homes and parks as well as tweak our daily lifestyles to improve general air quality. We can walk instead of drive, switch off lights, and cut our general consumption of energy. We need to think of the little things before we can get to the big things. Every little thing helps.
